Kyriakos Mariolis

I was born and raised in Athens, I have lived my entire childhood and studied there, as well.

I started painting and drawing when I was very young : I was always drawing or sketching with my pencils on my sketchbook , what I could see or what I could feel. My dream was to become an artist.

Growing up I lost touch with that side of myself but I realized that I could still reconnect with my younger self, the one that had dreams, that expressed his feelings, that would watch the world surrounding him with no filters. I believed that I could still watch the world, and express myself through art… With my heart of the past and my mind of the present combined. Thus, I began drawing and painting again.

I hope I can help people see the world through my eyes and escape the prison they themselves constructed. When we grow up, we abandon our childhood dreams, putting on blinders: With my art, I ‘m trying to take them off.

Presenting my art, is a way for me to share how I perceive the world with my very own eyes, as well as the beauty I feel. There is magic surrounding all of us, unseen to the majority. It is my ethical duty to unlock it for the whole world to see and experience.

I draw my inspiration from my inner feelings, unfulfilled desires, suppressed dreams, happy feelings… Whatever catches my attention, things that struck me or amaze me, or sometimes no plan at all.. I just hit my canvas with colors, according to my emotions, where words seem inadequate. The world all around me is an unlimited source of inspiration.

I'm an artist in heart, an artist who paints feelings genuinely.

My dream is to live my life at the fullest..I want to make my dreams come true through my art. To knock down the barriers all around me. Let my feelings be my only guide to my journey.
